For all our spyware software tests we used an IBM Thinkpad T42 laptop. It has been in regular use for about a year, which is the median lifespan for most PC's in use today. We were using Windows XP, however Anti-Spyware is compatible with Vista and other versions of Windows.

We downloaded a normal version of ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware to review, and installed it. After installing we updated the definition list. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Anti-Spyware defends against 241031 known malware programs. That is the biggest definition list we have come across in all our reviews. The latest version was also updated just a day before we installed Anti-Spyware. ParetoLogic is known to keep very current with their updates.

The Scan ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware Review

The scan runs very fast - much faster than any of the other spyware remover software we reviewed. It was able to complete a full system scan of 307064 objects in 1 minute and 32 seconds. Most other scanning programs take in excess of five minutes or more to run a full scan.

The Results ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware Review

We were amazed at the results that Anti-Spyware produced. It found a malware program that none of the other spyware programs had detected. Even Spyware Doctor missed this one. It was an adware program called Xupiter.Orbitexplorer. We were able to click on the details button and find out exactly what it was. It seems to be an adware program that will collect information and send it out to New Media Properties, LLC.

This is one of the biggest reasons we only recommend Anti-Spyware. It has the biggest definitions list and finds spyware that none of the other programs detect.

Another reason we like Anti-Spyware so much is that it's easy to use. The program is not a memory hog like spyware software tends to be. It loads fast and exits fast when you're done with it. If you don't want it running in the background it doesn't take 5 minutes to shut down.

The controls are very easy to locate, and navigation through the software is a breeze. We found it very appealing and it would be quite easy to use even if you don't have lots of computer experience.

Drawbacks ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware Review

No computer software is ever perfect, and Anti-Spyware is not an exception. When we installed the program for our ParetoLogic Anti-Spyware review, we did run into a strange problem after installation where the program wanted us to reinstall it so it could upgrade itself. We weren't sure what the problem was, but the program seems to work fine. We reinstalled it to see what would happen and the message went away.

Anti-Spyware isn't free, but we found it to be the best tool available, giving you much greater protection than any of the free anti-spyware software programs we tested.
